Talking to Your Child About Adoption

Please join us as Kattie Otte, MSW and an adoptive parent, will discuss the all important topic of Talking to Your Child about Adoption.

This informative session will include discussions including

- Each stage of child development and what the child can understand at each stage

- How best to present their adoption story to the child at that age.

- Answer questions such as, when should I start talking about it? What do I say to a 3 year old? When do I introduce difficult information?

There will be available at the end of the program for Q and A and group discussion.

Doors open at 6:30pm for mixing and mingling and a light meal. Program begins at 7pm.

Members and guests are both welcome. Admission is included in membership. Non-members are $10/each.
Childcare is available
- $15/child and $8/second child
- Please be sure to include questions about the age of the child and if there are any food allergies
Continuing Education Units approved by the Texas State Board of Social Workers Examiners will be available to interested attendees at an additional cost.
